BDifficulty 2/5

On a motorway with three lanes in each direction, which lane should you normally drive in?

Correct answer

In the rightmost lane.

Normally use the rightmost lane under Article 31: this is a general obligation, rather than merely a recommendation. Other lanes in the same direction may be used when traffic or road conditions warrant it, without obstructing following traffic and subject to applicable restrictions. After overtaking, return to the right when safe. Using another lane does not authorise exceeding the speed limit.
