With cold tyres, following the manufacturer’s instructions and using a suitable gauge. Pressure rises as tyres warm during driving: a hot reading can be accurate but is not directly comparable with the cold reference. Do not deflate a hot tyre merely to match that value. Check pressure regularly, rather than only when a tyre appears flat.
