C1Difficulty 1/5

To overtake a vehicle that is signalling with its indicator that it is about to change direction to the left, how will you carry out the manoeuvre?

Correct answer

Only if there is sufficient space and taking extreme care, you will exceptionally overtake on the right.

On roads outside built-up areas, as a general rule we will overtake on the left of the vehicle we intend to pass. Exceptionally, we will carry out this manoeuvre on the right, taking extreme care, and only when there is sufficient space, when the driver of the vehicle we are going to overtake indicates their intention to change direction to the left or stop on that side.
