A1Difficulty 3/5

Under the General Vehicle Regulations, what is required concerning the number and location of a motorcycle’s registration plate?

Correct answer

One rear plate, positioned vertically or almost vertically.

It must carry one plate at the rear, positioned vertically or almost vertically under Annex XVIII, section III.2. It must be the prescribed plate; painted numbers on the mudguard do not replace it. Installation must meet the applicable vehicle requirements and allow the registration to be identified; do not arbitrarily modify the mount or its inclination.
