What is the general validity period of an LVA licence according to the holder’s age?

Correct answer

10 years before age 65; 5 years from age 65.

Ten years while the holder is under 65, and five years from age 65, under Article 12.2 of the General Driver Regulations. It may be reduced for an illness or impairment that could worsen. Validity also depends on maintaining required eligibility and not losing all points; an expired licence does not authorise driving.

Legal basis: art. 12.2 RGCond
