Check that the entire manoeuvring area is clear and move slowly, stopping if a pedestrian appears or safe visibility is lost. Mirrors and cameras may have blind spots and do not replace checking the surroundings. Article 81 requires checking that there is no danger and reversing slowly; another person may assist if necessary. Care around pedestrians is also necessary in other manoeuvres.
