Correct answer
With the prescribed arm signal or the right indicator.
Indicate it by extending the arm horizontally and moving it repeatedly backwards and forwards, with the back of the hand facing backwards, or use the right indicator if an arm signal is unsuitable. The driver of the heavy vehicle being overtaken gives the signal. It grants no priority and does not replace the overtaking driver’s safety checks. Do not accelerate or obstruct. If overtaking could not be performed easily and safely, slow down or move onto a usable shoulder as circumstances require; those actions are not the signal requested here.
