An adult drives a car and obtained their first driving permit, category B, less than two years ago. What maximum blood alcohol concentration must they not exceed?

Correct answer

0.3 grams of alcohol per litre of blood.

The driver must not exceed 0.3 g/l of blood or 0.15 mg/l of breath under Article 20 during the two years following acquisition of the driving permit. This is explicitly the driver’s first permit, so there is no earlier permit qualifying them as an experienced driver. Drivers under eighteen are subject to zero alcohol. The safest choice is no alcohol when driving.
