An ordinary bus is more than six metres long. Must it be fitted with side position lights?

Correct answer

Yes; it must have the required side position lights.

Yes. They are compulsory on vehicles longer than six metres, subject to the regulatory cab-and-chassis exception. On a complete bus they are not merely optional or dependent only on intended night travel. Their number, placement and colour must meet the applicable specifications; do not confuse them with reflectors or end-outline marker lights.
