What it means
The S-2 sign indicates the end of a motorway. From that point, motorway status no longer applies and you travel on a road governed by the signs, markings, and characteristics that correspond to it. It does not mean that all obligations disappear or that you may change behaviour without observing the new environment. It is usually placed where a motorway ends, at transitions toward links, through roads, conventional roads, or other roads. When you see it, review the signed speed, accesses, possible users, and available lanes. In the test they often ask exactly what ends: the motorway ends, not the general obligation to drive prudently.
