What it means
The S-2a sign indicates the end of a dual carriageway. From it onward, the specific status of dual carriageway no longer applies and you must pay attention to the new road, its signs, and its admitted users. It does not by itself authorise specific manoeuvres or speeds; it only informs that this road type ends. It usually appears at final exits, transitions to conventional roads, urban accesses, or links where the category of the route changes. When you see it, adapt your driving progressively, watch entries, and read the later signs. In the test it is often contrasted with the start of dual carriageway and the end of motorway.
