What it means
The S-29 sign indicates the end of a residential street. From that point, the specific regulation of the residential area you were crossing ceases to apply, and the ordinary conditions of the road you enter apply again, together with any later signs. It is usually placed at exits from pedestrian-priority areas, traffic-calmed streets, or environments where coexistence with pedestrians was especially marked. When you see it, do not accelerate automatically: check the new surroundings, nearby users, and the following signs. In the test it is often contrasted with the start-of-residential-street sign, asking exactly what ends.
