What it means
The S-890 sign is a supplementary panel for a vertical sign. It adds to, limits, or specifies the meaning of the main sign through text, symbols, arrows, times, users, distances, or other conditions, so it should not be interpreted separately from it. It is usually placed below danger, regulatory, or information signs when their scope needs to be specified. When you see it, read the vertical sign first and then the panel as part of the same message. In the test they often check that you understand its supplementary function and do not treat it as an autonomous sign with complete meaning.
