What it means
The S-301 sign informs of towns on an itinerary by motorway or dual carriageway. It presents destinations located on the route to guide the driver about the continuity of the itinerary, without by itself ordering an exit, lane change, or specific speed. It usually appears on motorways and dual carriageways as a confirmation or direction panel toward relevant towns. When you see it, use it to check that you are following the intended route and keep attention on later exits or signs. In the test they often distinguish it from immediate-exit signs and conventional-road panels, focusing on the type of road.
