What it means
The P-10a sign warns of the proximity of a level crossing, movable bridge, or quay on the left-hand side. Its purpose is to locate the danger before reaching a point where the road may be regulated, interrupted, or limited by railway tracks, a movable deck, or the edge of a quay. It is usually found in the sequence before these places when the important side reference is on the left. When you see it, look toward that side, moderate your speed, and be ready to obey later signs, barriers, or lights. In the test they often check the side indicated and that you interpret it as a warning, not permission to pass.
