What it means
The P-11a sign indicates the location of a level crossing without barriers over more than one railway track. It marks the specific point where the road crosses several tracks without a physical closure, so you must check with particular attention that no train is approaching and that you can leave the crossing completely. It usually appears in the immediate area of the crossing, after earlier approach or proximity warnings. When you see it, slow down, look both ways, obey lights or sounds, and never remain stopped on the tracks. In the test they often highlight the absence of barriers and the presence of more than one track.
