What it means
The S-22 sign indicates a same-level U-turn. It informs of a place enabled to perform that manoeuvre without using an overpass or underpass, provided traffic conditions, markings, and signs allow it. It does not require you to turn around or authorise doing so from any lane or without observing other users. It usually appears in medians, intersections, regulated stretches, or points prepared for reversing direction. When you see it, decide in advance, signal, and position yourself correctly if you are going to use it. In the test they often distinguish it from the U-turn prohibition sign and from exit signs.
