Sign S-23: Hospital

Hospital
Official Spanish DGT catalogue image — S-23

What it means

The S-23 sign informs of the presence of a hospital. It guides toward a health centre or indicates its proximity, but it does not give automatic priority or authorise improper stops, parking, or manoeuvres unless other signing allows them. It usually appears on urban accesses, through roads, links, or streets near hospitals where it is useful to anticipate healthcare traffic, pedestrians, and specific entrances. When you see it, increase attention, respect reserved spaces, and follow access or emergency signs if you are looking for the centre. In the test it is often distinguished from generic health service signs and from danger signs involving ambulances.
