What it means
The S-440 sign identifies a second-level regional road. It informs of the administrative type of road through its signing, helping you recognise routes, references, and route continuity, but it does not by itself change the applicable traffic rules. It usually appears on markers, direction panels, route confirmations, or accesses where the road you are on or heading toward is indicated. When you see it, use it as an orientation reference and continue paying attention to limits, priorities, and specific signs. In the test they often ask what class of road it identifies, not what speed or priority it automatically has.
