What it means
The S-570 sign informs of a kilometre marker on a motorway or dual carriageway. It serves to identify the point of the road where you are travelling and to help with orientation, assistance, maintenance, or reporting incidents. It does not impose a manoeuvre or modify limits or priorities, because its function is location. It usually appears on the edges of motorways and dual carriageways as a continuous route reference. When you see it, use it to locate yourself or describe a place precisely if you need help. In the test they often ask that it is a reference marker on a high-capacity road, not a direction sign.
