What it means
The P-17a sign warns of a carriageway narrowing on the right. It indicates that the available space is reduced on that side, so you must adjust your position, watch the right edge, and anticipate possible movements by other users toward the centre. It usually appears before roadworks, bridges, disappearing shoulders, side obstacles, or section changes where the lane loses width on the right. When you see it, moderate speed, keep distance, and do not overtake if the margin is insufficient. In the test they often ask you to identify the affected side and not confuse it with narrowing on the left or on both sides.
