Sign P-20: Peatones

Peatones
Official Spanish DGT catalogue image — P-20

What it means

The P-20 sign warns of the possible presence of pedestrians. It does not necessarily locate a crossing at the exact point, but warns you of an area where people on foot may cross or walk near the carriageway. It usually appears on through roads, accesses to centres, residential areas, stops, or places with frequent pedestrian movement. When you see it, moderate your speed, watch the edges, and be ready to give way when required by the situation and later signing. In the test they often distinguish it from the square pedestrian crossing sign, which locates the crossing and does not only warn.
