What it means
The P-9c sign warns of the nearness of a level crossing, movable bridge, or quay on the right-hand side. It indicates that the danger point is already close and that you must pay extra attention to that side, because there may be barriers, lights, quay edges, tracks, or immediate special regulation. It usually appears as part of the approach sequence when the risk is located to the right of your path. When you see it, slow down smoothly, avoid overtaking if the situation advises against it, and be ready to stop. In the test they often ask you to distinguish nearness from approach and to note the right-hand side.
