What it means
The R-108 sign prohibits entry to vehicles carrying dangerous goods. The prohibition depends on the load being carried and the risk it represents, not only on the size of the vehicle or on it being an ordinary goods vehicle. It usually appears in tunnels, through roads, urban areas, sensitive passages, or routes where that transport must avoid the signed access. When you see it, if you drive an affected vehicle you must divert onto a permitted route and not continue for convenience. In the test they often distinguish it from specific prohibitions for explosive, flammable, or water-polluting goods.
