What it means
The R-417 sign indicates mandatory use of the seat belt. It reminds or orders the affected occupants to wear it correctly fastened while travelling, without replacing other safety obligations or depending on whether the journey seems short. It usually appears at accesses, premises, roads, or points where that obligation is to be reinforced for the vehicles concerned. When you see it, check before starting or continuing that the belt is positioned and adjusted correctly. In the test it is usually treated as a mandatory sign and distinguished from general advice or information campaigns.
