What it means
The R-300 sign establishes a minimum separation. It requires you to keep at least the distance shown on the sign from the vehicle ahead for as long as the prescription lasts, without inventing exceptions for convenience or apparently flowing traffic. It usually appears in tunnels, on bridges, on stretches with special risk, gradients, roadworks, or places where insufficient distance can worsen an incident. When you see it, adjust your speed and leave real margin before approaching the vehicle in front. In the test they often check that the distance refers to separation between vehicles and that the specific value is the one shown on the visible sign.
