What it means
The R-303 sign prohibits turning left. The prohibition applies to the indicated turning manoeuvre, although you may continue straight ahead or take another direction allowed by the signs and road markings. It is usually placed before intersections where that turn creates conflict, poor visibility, a dangerous crossing, or a special traffic layout. When you see it, position yourself in advance in the correct lane to continue along a permitted route and do not improvise the turn at the last moment. In the test it is often distinguished from a prohibition on U-turns, because they do not always mean the same thing.
