What it means
The R-304 sign prohibits a U-turn or change of direction. It does not refer to an ordinary turn onto another road, but to the manoeuvre of reversing direction in order to travel the opposite way on the same road or permitted path. It is usually placed at junctions, stretches with poor visibility, separated carriageways, accesses, or points where that manoeuvre would create conflict. When you see it, continue on a permitted route until you find a place where changing direction is allowed. In the test it is often contrasted with the prohibition on turning left, because one may exist without the other necessarily existing.
