What it means
The R-4 sign indicates the end of priority. From that point, the priority you had under previous signing no longer applies, so you must again assess each junction, entry, or conflict according to the signs present and the general rules. It does not mean you must always stop, but that you can no longer rely on continued priority. It usually appears at the end of a priority road, a regulated stretch, or an area where priority was expressly recognised. When you see it, reduce your confidence, observe both sides, and be ready to give way if required. In the test it is often contrasted with the sign that grants priority.
