What it means
The R-406 sign indicates a carriageway for lorries and vans. It reserves or orders the use of that carriageway for those vehicles when it applies to them, separating their itinerary from the rest of traffic according to the signed layout. It usually appears at accesses, forks, industrial areas, links, or stretches where transport traffic is channelled along a specific route. When you see it, if you drive an included lorry or van you must follow the signed carriageway; if not, respect the reservation and avoid occupying it improperly. In the test they often ask which vehicles are affected and distinguish it from an entry ban for goods vehicles.
