What it means
The R-308a sign prohibits parking on odd-numbered days. It does not necessarily prevent stopping when stopping is compatible with the rules, but it does prohibit leaving the vehicle parked on the days affected by the sign. It is usually used on streets where parking alternates to make cleaning, loading, visibility, or space management easier. When you see it, check the relevant day before parking and pay attention to any supplementary panels defining the stretch, time, or side of application. In the test they often ask the difference between parking and stopping, and the key is that the prohibition depends on odd-numbered days.
