What it means
The S-11a sign indicates a one-way carriageway. It informs that, on that carriageway, traffic moves in only one direction, so you must adapt your position, entries, and turns to that layout. It does not by itself authorise you to occupy any lane without observing markings, destinations, or supplementary signs. It is usually placed at the beginning of streets, slip roads, or separated carriageways where it is useful to make clear that there will be no oncoming traffic on that same carriageway. When you see it, avoid manoeuvres against the indicated direction and watch side accesses. In the test they often distinguish it from an obligation to go straight and from no entry.
