Sign S-13: Situacion of un pedestrian crossing

Situacion of un pedestrian crossing
Official Spanish DGT catalogue image — S-13

What it means

The S-13 sign indicates the location of a pedestrian crossing. It informs that the crossing is at that point or immediately associated with the sign, so you must pay extra attention to people crossing or about to cross. It is usually placed next to marked crossings on urban roads, through roads, or accesses where its visibility should be reinforced. When you see it, moderate your speed, observe both sides, and give way when required according to the applicable pedestrian priority. In the test it is often distinguished from the triangular danger sign for a pedestrian crossing: this one locates the crossing, not only warns in advance.
