What it means
The S-242 sign gives advance information on a motorway or dual carriageway for two very close exits toward any road. Its purpose is to warn you that there will be two exit options in a short space, so you do not confuse destinations or make rushed manoeuvres. It usually appears before complex links where consecutive exits require choosing a lane well in advance. When you see it, read all destinations, identify which one matches your route, and drive predictably until you reach the correct lane. In the test they often ask about the presence of two close exits and the type of road on which this advance sign appears.
