What it means
The S-63 sign informs of a fork on a four-lane carriageway. It anticipates that traffic will split between different branches or directions, so you must read the destinations and choose your lane with enough advance notice. It is usually placed on wide roads, links, or approaches to exits where a late movement may force crossing several lanes and create risk. When you see it, keep a predictable path, signal any change, and avoid correcting your choice at the last moment. In the test they often ask that it is fork and lane information, not an obligation to leave the main road.
