What it means
The P-18 sign warns of roadworks. It means that ahead you may find workers, machinery, narrowings, diversions, uneven surface, temporary markings, or traffic regulated differently from normal. It usually appears before stretches under repair, maintenance, or modification, both on roads and in urban areas. When you see it, reduce speed, increase following distance, watch the temporary signs, and avoid sudden lane changes. In the test they often check that you treat it as a danger sign and do not assume a specific obligation until you read the supplementary signs or the instructions given by workers.
