What it means
The R-2 sign means mandatory stop. It requires you to stop the vehicle completely at the appropriate point and resume driving only when you have checked that you can do so without interfering with those who have priority. It is usually placed at intersections, entries, or points with visibility or risk that require a clear check before entering. When you see it, slow in time, stop where required, and observe all conflicting directions before moving on. In the test it is often contrasted with give way: here stopping is mandatory even if at first you do not see any vehicle approaching.
