What it means
The R-306 sign prohibits overtaking for lorries. The prohibition is aimed at the affected lorries, so it must not be confused with a general overtaking ban for all vehicles or with a speed limitation. It is usually placed on gradients, in tunnels, on carriageways with limited visibility, narrow stretches, or places where lorry overtaking may obstruct traffic or increase risk. When you see it, if you drive an affected lorry you must remain in your position until the prohibition ends. In the test they often ask which vehicles it affects and distinguish it from the R-305 general overtaking prohibition sign.
