What it means
The S-14b sign indicates an underpass for pedestrians. It informs that there is a pedestrian route below the carriageway or below traffic level to cross without doing so at traffic level. It usually appears on avenues, urban roads, stations, links, or points where pedestrians and vehicles should be separated. When you see it, keep attention on the accesses to the crossing and on possible people nearby, without confusing it with an obligation to give way at a carriageway-level crossing. In the test it is often distinguished from a pedestrian overpass and from the sign locating an ordinary pedestrian crossing.
