What it means
The P-3 sign warns that traffic lights are nearby. It prepares you to find light regulation that may require you to stop, continue, or use extra caution depending on the light displayed when you arrive. It is usually placed before junctions, regulated crossings, urban stretches, or areas where the traffic light is not visible early enough. When you see it, look ahead, reduce uncertainty, and avoid approaching as if the road were still clear. In the theory test it is used to remind you that this is a danger warning, not a traffic light itself, and that you must obey the actual signal.
