What it means
The P-5 sign warns that a movable bridge is nearby. It means there may be a road section ahead that opens or lifts, with a possible mandatory stop and traffic regulated by barriers, traffic lights, or other means. It usually appears on approaches to bridges over canals, rivers, or port areas where road traffic may be interrupted. When you see it, reduce speed, increase following distance, and be ready to stop without entering the closing area. In the test they often check that you recognise it as a specific danger and not as a simple narrowing or level crossing.
