What it means
The S-230 sign indicates advance signing with signs over the carriageway on a conventional road toward a conventional road. Through panels placed over the lanes, it anticipates which directions or destinations correspond to each path before a link, junction, or exit toward another conventional road. It usually appears where it is useful to choose lane in advance to avoid late changes. When you see it, read all destinations, position yourself progressively in the corresponding lane, and respect the road markings. In the test they often check that you understand its advance guidance function, not an isolated obligation to leave the road.
