What it means
The S-230a sign gives advance information, with signs over the carriageway, for directions on a conventional road toward another conventional road and the road's own direction. It indicates in advance which lanes or paths correspond to each destination, including the continuation of the road you are on. It usually appears before important forks or intersections on conventional roads. When you see it, interpret each arrow and destination, choose your position in time, and avoid last-minute lane changes. In the test they often check that you distinguish the continuing direction from the exit toward another road, and do not confuse it with a separate mandatory-turn sign.
